Parties Anonymous!

I need help and I know it.  Give me the challenge of an event or party or reunion or just about anything that involves a group of people, and I am in it.

Last week, Deborah Stevens posted on Facebook, “Very interesting story about the coffee party compared to the tea party! I think I will start a margarita party or maybe a 'hot chocolate' party. This really shows the power of connection though and I like that!”

And what does that do to a partyholic?  Yep, what a great idea!  The Margarita Party is born!  We can connect over a rim of salt, and maybe call it the Maggie Rocks Party!  I mean, who does their margaritas frozen anymore, that’s so 80’s…  And we can do anejo, the finest in tequilas (which minimizes hangovers, BTW) and really good guacamole.  And chips, gotta have chips, and really good salsa.  Uh oh, a Facebook Group beckons…

I read a book once where the guy’s theory of everything tastes better in a tortilla really resonated with me.  So, add tortillas.  And what better to celebrate The Margarita Party than a party holiday?  And why not a quasi-Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo!  Bet the Tea Party doesn’t have a party holiday.

And Margarita Marathons!  Every beach resort or downtown urban area should have one.  Once a year, gather other Margarita Party members, troll about 6 restaurants or bars within walking distance, rate the finest in your neighborhood.  We’ve been doing this for 6 years in Capitola with Stockton Bridge winning every year.  Walking and cabs work best.  Watch out for Dorenda.  And don’t try a barcycle (another era, another locale).  Never was good at that one.

And then on to the extreme; maybe I could run as the Margarita Party candidate?  Hmmm, a tortilla platform?

Stop me now!  But in the meantime, join The Margarita Party on Facebook!
