Myriad Professions

Over dinner the other night, a newer friend asked what I did for fun.  While hanging around the pool the next day with 3 of the 4 quadruplets, we gave it some thought.  My free-time activities have evolved over the decades into professional level skill sets.  In fact, I’m so good at party planning, I made it the cornerstone of Boffo Productions!

1. Pro-tanner, since the days of iodine in the baby oil and the foil-covered White album. Sand, sun, friends, Vitamin D, the best new novel, resort hotels and long-time friends. Perfection.
2. Pro-reader and I have the books to prove it.
3. Pro-movie go-er. Just saw Hot Tub Time Machine and liked it.
4. Pro-party planner. Duh, enough said.
5. Pro-shopper, back in the day. Didn’t break a shopper’s high unless you broke four figures. Now, not so much.
6. Pro-traveler, especially for business. Commuting every week from New Jersey to the Caribbean will do that to you.
7. Pro-sports spectator. Have done the Super Bowl, the Tour de France, the World Series, a couple NBA Finals games, the Olympics, The Open (golf and tennis), the Indy 500, the inaugural NASCAR in Vegas and still have more to go!  Plus season tix to the SF Giants and Stanford football...ok, it's the tailgates.  Go Bears!
8. Pro-Margarita/tequila drinker. Check out the Margarita Party group page in Facebook.
9. Pro-photographer for the Hazzard, Kennedy and Kettmann families.
10. Pro-writer; hey, I’m published!
11. Pro-chocoholic. Damn it.
12. Pro-amateur athlete, from running for 32 years, including the Boston marathon and 6 others, a couple dozen halfs and now swimming 5 days a week.
13. And finally, I’m a professional friend!  At least, I think I am, right?

Occasionally, the planets align and you get to combine skills into special moments, like hanging in Vegas with a couple BFFs, shopping, eating, drinking and sitting in the sun by the resort’s pool and all is good in the world.
