Books for Beach Reading

I am so behind and I need to pass these books on to Jules, so here goes...

1.  Deception by Jonathan Kellerman; Always a good read.  He hasn't gotten too formulaic yet, and I am a big fan.  But he's really short and doesn't look like his flap photo.

2.  The Spellmans Strike Back by Lisa Lutz; The latest installment of the very clever and amusing Spellman series.  Love the context of San Francisco as a character and (Spoiler alert!), she finally gets the right guy.  Is the series over now?  Or will Lisa spoil it by doing one more, like SATC2?

3.  Deep Shadow by Randy Wayne White; I like the series with Doc Ford and the characters are memorable, but I was BORED with this one.  Interesting, but I had to skip over massive amounts of water stuff and get to the end.  And I don't think I missed anything doing so.

4.  Deliver Us From Evil, David Baldacci; Sorry, David, but I am so over you!  Just not doing it for me anymore, which is sad because you are so cute and you did visit Katheryn's first grade class in Virginia.  Ba-Bye!

5.  Blue Eyed Devil, Robert B. Parker; RIP, Robert Parker.  One of three books by Parker that were in edit when he passed, the Appaloosa series is my favorite of Parker's. The spare language and character studies work best when in historic context for Parker.  And I can still picture Viggo and Ed and the leads... and unfortunately, Renee as well.

The good news is that there are many talented authors to take the place of someone like Parker.  I am half-way through Cornelia Read's Invisible Boy.  Really lovely!  More when done!
