A New Adventure

Move #49 was from Half Moon Bay to Aptos, California.  After the real estate market decided to suck for the last 3 years and for the next 5, I rented out my beloved beach house.  Downsizing sounded like a great idea, but where to move?

San Francisco is the city of my birth and family goes back 5 generations.  But it isn't inexpensive, the homeless lessen the appeal, and a house is outside the neighborhoods I seek.  So, no SF at this time.

Should I stay in Half Moon Bay?  Or is it "been there, done that"?  I am hating the politics of San Mateo County, so nope, moving on.

Then why not Santa Cruz County?  Family and friends are here, it is warmer than HMB, and would constitute a real adventure! 

Now I live in a funky beach home, great ocean views, lovely wave sounds nightly and it's not warmer and the traffic is the worst ever! 

I need advice on how to make this an adventure and how to turn the negatives into positives.

Any thoughts out there?
